Hi every one .. Not far away now as we now in the month of may..Still packing boxes. ,sorting out all the stuff we have..We have a 4 cubic skip comming on Friday ,so won't take long to fill with rubbish. At least was able to get rid of old t v ,s. and computer monitors. Cost nothing o dispose of at local tip..oh well back to sorting stuff out. .. Long nights and early mornings as not much time left until we move.. Write more soon.

hi rick1263 thanks for your earlier post about containers. I will definitely check it out as I'm intending to move around this time next year. It's a pity that the forum has gone so quiet, I posted on 27 April (my first post) and almost a week later there are zilch replies. A little disheartening given this is a forum about moving to Tassie and I thought mine was a fair post asking important questions. Oh well, I'll keep hoping for a while longer... all the best with your own move  |

Hi everyone still packing here.. Just would like to know if there are any good Internet providers that have good deals. ? Hi Rick, There's not much choice down here I'm afraid. Telstra can give you the best service down here. Others are not as reliable, although good ol' Telstra is a bit iffy sometimes. We have Telstra wireless broadband as we are unable to get ADSL (telstra refused to reconnect our phone after the previous owner moved out). The wireless is okay though there are moments of drop out when it's very foggy, very windy or between 4 and 7pm when there is high demand. Sarah www.movingtotasmania.com.au |

Hi Rick, Thanks for your advice about the shipping container. We have got a price so far for a removalist who uses shipping containers, and are getting another one tomorrow from a removalist who uses a removalist truck. Unfortunately for us we need one and a half shipping containers. So I don't think hiring is going to be cost effective for us. I really hoped I would get more feedback in regards to which removalists people can recommend. Anyway, I suppose there's only one way to find out!  |

Let you guys know that we are not far away from getting on the boat to Tassie as we are staying in a caravan park on the out skirts of Melbourne Has been a nice trip from Adelaide. So far ...But has been along drive. Oh well time for bed now. Write more soon. !!!!!!!!!

Well we are over here now?? We got a. House at Glendevie. And it's so nice and quiet here. Which we both like a lot. We have been in the house for about 5 weeks now so all our things are unpacked. We did have our pet cat. But sadly he passed away not long after getting here. But he was old and we think he just hung on to be with us until we moved over here.. He was 17 years old .and be sadly missed. .but we are glad that we moved here. We have a beautiful view of the mountains. And we're not far from the Huon river. And we finely got the Internet. It's a satellite service which works fine. So good to be back online again..
Hey would be nice to catch up with Sarah The person who started this forum. Ok write more soon. Bye......

Hi .. Yes we do have satellite drop outs ,, all depends on the weather .. The speed is not too bad. But at least we have Internet .
Just like to say its cool living down this part of Tasmania. ,,,,, nice and quiet,,,, will write more soon. Time for bed. ....
