Just wondering if anyone out there has retired to Tasmania? We are a retired couple in our early 60s currently in WA, having come over from the UK 2 years ago to be with our family here in Perth. We are finding it very expensive here in Perth and as we also used to go walking a lot in the Yorkshire Dales and the Peak District we are missing the green scenery. Rather than return to the UK we thought of moving somewhere that suits us better in Australia and then at least we would be in the same country.
I have noticed that property seems to be more affordable in Tasmania but I was wondering what the lifestyle is like for retirees and if there is much going on? We are thinking of coming over for a visit but want to make the most of this and just wondering if there are any particular areas we should check out. Any comments or help appreciated.
